Our dog Zoe is very sick, we need your help

I am not going to write a long sob story about my family and our current financial situation, but I will say it is not good at all.

Last Thursday our black lab named Zoe became ill, vomiting, not eating, and Saturday started urinating blood. The blood problem ceased on Sunday, and we took her into the vet on Monday. She weighed 80.3lbs on that visit.

She has not had a full meal since Wednesday of last week, and has eaten nothing since Sunday. What she did eat she vomited back up within an hour. She has been vomiting all week now, A picture of Zoe, she isn't active at all as she has no energ... on TwitPicand is very dehydrated to say the least. I have been giving her Gatorade since yesterday to rehydrate as per the vets suggestion, and pepto B to curb the stomach issues.

Last night she was not looking good at all, and we took her back into the vet first thing this morning. At that visit we weighed Zoe again and she weighed 73.2lbs which means she has lost more than 7lbs just since Monday.

The reason for this post is to request your help in getting Zoe better.

Here is a picture of what I am currently giving her, and thats just the stuff we got today other than the Gatorade, and Pepto.

I am usually a pround man, but today I can't be as my best friend is sick, and I don't have the money to make her better.

The vet bills are piling up, and are currently at $300 of which I have paid $150 of. Depending on the blood work results, there could possibly be another $90 for x-rays, revisit fees of $28 each visit, and who knows what else. I am doing everything I can to not have to put her down as I have never had to make a decision like that before, and I want to avoid having to make that decision tomorrow.

I can't justify putting her down if the problem can be solved without major surgery.

So if you would like to help, I have set-up a PayPal donation account to help pay for the vet costs. I want to thank everyone of my reader, and those who donate as it will be greatly appreciated.

If donations exceed the vet cost's, I plan on donating the excess to the local humane society chapter. Again thanks for your support, and any help you can provide.

Sincerely,

I am so sorry to hear about

I am so sorry to hear about Zoe... she was the sweetest dog i've ever met. I know this is a hard time for you, Shasta, and Mickayl. We had to put our dog to sleep back in June, and lord knows that was so hard.

I am ALWAYS, no matter what, here for you, my Shasta Daisy, and little Mickayl... even if ya just need to vent or anything, i'm here. I loved Zoe too; afterall, we did all live together for a time... I love u guys!!!!

Not going to make it

I just got off the phone with the vet, and there are several things going on with Zoe.

She has Addison's Disease, Hyperthyroidism, Diabeatis, and kidney failure. We are going to lose our dog today, and there is nothing we can do about it.

She was a great dog that loved playing fetch, going for walks, sleeping in our bed, she was a great watch dog, and loved when visitors come to the house. She loved giving hugs, and I mean real hugs. She would get on her hind legs, stretch out and wrap her fronts around your waist. Most people didn't mind, and that's how I greeted her whenever I came home from being out.

I would like to thank everyone for their concern, and support through this difficult time her at The Needham's.

Sincerely,
Joshua Needham

I understand your loss

I put my best friend down late last month. Blogging helped me through the process.
